The Typing Explosion are three performers from Seattle who from 1998 to 2004 created poetry on demand (read some) using vintage typewriters, bells and whistles. The subjects of a digital documentary shown in Europe during the Venice Biennale and later covered on US television in June 2006, they performed in person during the vernissage week at Gallery Holly Snapp, San Marco 3127.

"The Typing Explosion" digital documentary by Cynthia Rose was supported by Artists' Trust of Washington, the 911 Media Arts Center (via the National Endowment for the Arts and Andy Warhol Foundation) and the Jack Straw Foundation. For further information about or copies of this DVD, please enquire here. The Typing Explosion retired in autumn, 2004.
